This itinerary takes you through Furano and Biei, visiting flower farms, panoramic viewpoints, and hidden local gems, before ending the day with a cozy dinner. Start your day at Hokusei Yama, a small hill with sweeping views of Furano’s patchwork fields and the Tokachidake range.

In the winter, the hill becomes a casual ski slope - a training grounds for local school children and also popular with families sledding together. Although the course is rather short, this steep and ungroomed field offers skiers a fun way to test their skills away from the big resort crowds.

Wander through the famous flower fields of Farm Tomita, then browse for lavender-inspired souvenirs such as soaps, oils, and their popular soft-serve.

☀️ Summer Highlight: Don’t miss the seasonal Tomita Melon House's freshly baked Melon Pan—crispy on the outside like a po lo bao, with a soft center filled with sweet melon cream. A perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of coffee.

Now make your way to Biei, a town famous for its rolling hills and postcard-perfect landscapes. Driving through the countryside feels like moving through a painting, with wide skies and endless fields stretching into the horizon. One of the highlights is Shikisai no-oka, a hillside that bursts into rainbow-colored flowers in summer and transforms into a snowy playground with snowmobiles in winter.

From there, follow the winding road to the famous Roller Coaster Road, where the steep ups and downs make you feel like you’re on an amusement ride, with breathtaking views at every crest.

Biei Farm offers a perfect place for tea break, offering rich Hokkaido soft serve, or browse the local farmers market for seasonal produce, jams, and honey.

As the day winds down, head to the Xmas Tree, a solitary tree standing gracefully in the middle of a field—a simple yet striking sight that’s especially magical when dusted with snow. If you’re visiting in winter, don’t miss our favorite sunset spot, where the light softens over the snow-covered hills, bathing Biei in hues of gold and pink. It’s a moment that captures the quiet beauty of Hokkaido at its best.

End with a hearty dinner—either back at a restaurant in Furano Town Centre, where izakayas and cafés offer everything from Japanese comfort food to Western favorites or book our dinner special - Singapore Laksa or Bak Kut Teh hot pot made with local ingredients prepared by Marilyn (the Singaporean).

Depending on the time of year, Furano and Biei offer different evening experiences:

❄️ Winter (November–March): Head to the Shirogane Blue Pond for the special winter light-up event. From 5:00 PM onwards, the pond glows with magical illumination, turning the frozen water and surrounding trees into a dreamy winter wonderland.

☀️ Summer: Experience local festivals that bring the community together. The Furano Bellybutton Festival (Hesomatsuri) in July is one of the quirkiest, with dancers painting faces on their bellies, plus lively food stalls and music. Many summer nights also feature fireworks displays over Furano’s skies.

(We will be sharing these timely festivals with you during your stay here!)

💜 July Highlight: Visit Hinode Park for the lavender light-up event (exact dates vary). Watching rows of lavender glowing under gentle illumination at night is a magical way to end a summer day.
