Wondering where to go?

Below are some suggested places for you during your stay here with the pre-requisite that you will be driving. Since Furano is a four seasons prefecture, the pictures presented here may not resemble the period of your travel.

PS: Lavenders bloom only in July, you are unlikely to find them in any other months.

NAKAFURANO ・ KAMIFURANO

Hokuseiyama

In summer, you get to see lavenders, marigold, salvia & other flowers. Get lucky in July for their annual fireworks festival! A great photo spot for winter too!

Farm Tomita

We know you know it is all about lavenders. But, they also have a very magical flower shop! Operating hours may be shorten in different seasons.

For sure there is no lavender in winter!

Lavender East

Owned by Farm Tomita, hop onto the lavender tractor bus to get a view of the fields.

PS: Only open in the month of July for about 3 weeks.

Hinode Park

Scent of lavender lingers while you roam around the Lavender field. An annual light-up event begins from early July.

BIEI ・ ASAHIKAWA

Shikisai-no-oka

This place is known for it's flower fields and landscape view up until Autumn! In winter, you can try out snow mobile activities. Oh ya, alpacas are hanging around too.

Shirogane Blue Pond

The background changes to yellow in autumn and white in winter. It is best to visit in the evening after 5pm during winter, as special light-up event turns the white frozen pond back to blue.

Shirogane Waterfall

Sight of the waterfall can be seen along the bridge. Nice view, soothing sound.

The water continues to flow even in winter. Personally we like it in autumn, colours are pretty and its cooler too.

Asahiyama Zoo

One of the best zoo Marilyn reckons! All the cutest animals can be seen up-close. We spent an entire day there to watch all of the feeding and shows. Penguin will be out for a stroll every winter.

ROKUGO ・ FURANO

Anpanman Shop & Gallery

Do you know Anpanman is originally a Japanese children's superhero picture book series? The gallery on the 2nd floor sure is amazing.

Glass Forest in Furano

If glass blowing is too much for you, try their glass bead making workshop and have your product made into a keychain! Best DIY souvenir you can bring home.

Rokkatei

Try out their Yukiyakonko soft serve ice cream and don't forget to buy a box of marusei butter sand for later. Make sure to finish them before it expires!

Ningle Terrace

A great photo spot, lots of handicraft artwork though not all shops may be open. Bring an umbrella in the summer, you will find out why when you get there.
